Membership Category

Description & Dues
|
Active
|
Anyone who raises bison, or who has a financial interest in the raising of bison,
within the State of Michigan is eligible for Active membership. Active members are
eligible to vote, hold office, and serve on committees within the association.
Dues: $50.00 annually
|
Associate
|
Associate membership is available for any person, activity, or business enterprise
whose interest in bison is other than owning and raising bison, i.e. taxidermists, meat
sales, and other bison by-products, restaurants, meat packing plants, artists (painting,
sculpting, etc.), bison souvenirs, etc. Associate membership is available to our
Canadian neighbors as well as residents of other states and countries who are not eligible
for Active membership. Associate members have no vote and may not hold office within
the association but may, with their consent, serve on committees when the interests of the
associate membership may best be served by such committee service. Associate members
may not "chair' any committee. Dues: $25.00 annually.

Sustaining
|
Sustaining membership is available to any person, business activity, or
association that has an interest in the success of this association and who makes the
appropriate donation to attain "Sustaining Member" status. Dues:
$250.00 (or more) annually.

Honorary
|
Honorary membership may be bestowed upon any individual, business activity, or
association that has made a significant contribution to the presence, health, and well
being of bison within the State of Michigan. Honorary membership may be, but is not
necessarily, awarded posthumously. Honorary members may voice their opinions on
business being conducted by the association but have no vote and will not be elected to
office unless by reason of holding a dual-status in the association as an active member.
